C-RCS Seeks Volunteers for District Planning Advisory Committee

Posted Date: 09/09/26 (04:00 PM)

Dear C-RCS Community,

Since June, the District has been working with the Capital Area School Development Association (CASDA) on an optimization study focused on the long-term use of District resources, facilities, and infrastructure. This work is part of the District’s ongoing planning in response to historically declining enrollment, limited funding, and evolving student needs.

CASDA was selected through a formal Request for Proposal process. The consultants are analyzing District data and will gather stakeholder feedback through focus groups and surveys this fall. Their findings will inform recommendations to the District; any future action would require discussion and approval by the Board of Education.

To support this work, the District is forming a District Planning Advisory Committee consisting of 10–15 members representing parents/guardians, community members, and staff. Committee members will serve as a sounding board and provide feedback to CASDA during the study.

The committee will meet approximately three or four times between late September and January. Meetings will be held in the evening and last approximately 90 minutes.

District residents interested in serving should contact the District Clerk, Lydia VanEvera at vaneveral@crcsd.org, or 518-234-4032, ext. 2000. Please include your name and your connection to the District, such as parent/guardian, staff member, or community member.

Please express your interest by Thursday, September 17. If more than 15 people volunteer, members will be selected to ensure balanced representation across stakeholder groups.

Thank you for considering this opportunity to participate in the District’s long-range planning process.

Sincerely,

Matt Sickles, Superintendent
