Dear C-RCS Families,

Historically, the Board of Education convenes a Citizens’ Budget Committee (CBC) to serve in an advisory capacity to the budget development process. Accordingly, a Citizens’ Budget Committee will be formed to provide community feedback on the development of the 2026-2027 school budget. 

The District is seeking a total of 20 volunteers to serve on the CBC, representing parents, non-parent community members, and district-resident staff members. More information about the CBC, including how to volunteer, is available here. 

Please review this important information before volunteering, as it provides details about the roles, responsibilities, and expectations of a CBC member. The four CBC meeting dates are also provided. The deadline for volunteering is January 9, 2026.

Information related to the budget development process will also be presented at four Board of Education meetings, so all members of the community will have access to information about the budget, regardless of whether they are selected to serve on the CBC.
