Public Comment - Revised 2025-26 District-Wide School Safety Plan

In July 2025, New York State adopted Desha’s Law, requiring schools to develop Cardiac Emergency Response Plans. School districts were given until January 20, 2026, to add these plans to their District-Wide School Safety Plans. The required process for updating the District-Wide School Safety Plan includes a 30-day public comment period and a public hearing.
The public comment period will run from November 6, 2025, through December 7, 2025. The public hearing to review the proposed changes is scheduled for 6 p.m. on November 17, 2025, prior to the regular Board meeting in the Golding Middle School Library.
The District is taking this opportunity to incorporate two additional sections that are recommended but not yet required: Before and After School Safety Policy and Threat/Suicide/TIG Assessment Summary. These sections include protocols that have been in place but were not previously included in the formal plan.
The three new sections can be found at the end of the document and are highlighted in yellow. No other portion of the plan has been edited or revised.
