Golding Spelling Bee | 2026

Golding Middle School held its annual Spelling Bee on the morning of January 8, 2026, bringing together students for an exciting and competitive academic event that highlighted preparation, focus, and strong vocabulary skills.
After several challenging rounds, all three top finishers came from Grade 7. Gurjot Multani earned first place, correctly spelling the final word, “whittle.” Faith Lawton placed second, followed closely by Carlos Ullman in third place. The competition remained close throughout, showcasing the impressive abilities of all participants.
The district extends sincere thanks to Dr. Pombrio for serving as the event’s pronouncer, as well as judges Mrs. Bradt, Mr. Osterhoudt, and Mrs. Seyboth for their time and support as well as Mrs. Pacatte for organizing and facilitating the event.
A special thank you goes to the Cobleskill-Richmondville Educational Foundation (C-REF) for generously providing cash prizes for the first, second, and third-place winners.
Congratulations to all students who participated in this year’s Spelling Bee! Events like this continue to celebrate academic excellence and build confidence in our learners.
