Back-to-School Events

The 2026-27 school year is just around the corner, and C-RCS is excited to welcome students and families back to our schools! Several upcoming events will give students an opportunity to become familiar with their new buildings, meet teachers and students, and get ready for the first day of school on September 8.
Ryder Elementary PreK & Kindergarten Orientation
Wednesday, September 2 | 8:00–9:00 a.m.
Incoming PreK and Kindergarten students and their families are invited to Ryder Elementary for an orientation morning.
Students and families will arrive by bus and have the opportunity to: Tour their classroom, meet their teacher, play on the brand new playground, and meet with the Transportation Department.
Questions should be directed to the Ryder Main Office at 518-234-4032, ext. 5000.
Radez Elementary Walk the Halls
Thursday, September 3 | 3:00–5:00 p.m.
Incoming 3rd graders and their families are invited to Radez Elementary for Walk the Halls.
Students will have the opportunity to walk through the building and become familiar with the hallways, fiind their classroom and other important locations, get comfortable with their new school surroundings, and ask questions.
Golding Middle School Back-to-School Night
Thursday, September 3 | 5:00–7:00 p.m.
Golding Middle School will host Back-to-School Night for all students and families. This event combines the school's former Walk the Halls and Open House into one evening.
When families arrive, they will be directed to their student's homeroom. Homeroom teachers will greet students and families and provide students with their schedules and locker information cards.
After checking in with their homeroom teacher, students will have an opportunity to access their lockers and follow their schedules as they move throughout the building. Students are encouraged to bring any school supplies they already have with them.
C-RHS Freshman Orientation
Wednesday, September 2 | 6:00–8:00 p.m.
C-RHS Theater
All incoming freshmen and their families are encouraged to attend Freshman Orientation.
The evening will begin in the C-RHS Theater and provide students with an opportunity to receive their class schedule and locker assignment, learn about daily routines at the high school, explore the building and walk the halls at their own pace, meet current faculty members and students, and ask questions about the transition to high school.
As a reminder, all school supply lists can be viewed on our website. We look forward to welcoming our students and families to these events and helping everyone feel prepared and comfortable as we begin a new school year!
