7th Grade Spanish Classes Make Their Own Guacamole

Students in Mrs. Beilser’s 7th grade Spanish classes recently took part in a fun and flavorful hands-on learning experience—making and taste testing their very own guacamole.
As part of the lesson, students learned about the history of guacamole and its cultural significance, while also exploring the different ingredients used to create the popular dish. They then had the opportunity to take an active role in preparing and mixing the ingredients themselves.
The activity gave students a chance to connect classroom learning with real-world experiences, combining language, culture, and collaboration. For some students, it was their first time trying guacamole!
By the end of the lesson, nearly every student gave their homemade creation a thumbs up!
