C-RHS Students Selected for 5th Annual Youth Arts Show

Three talented students from Cobleskill-Richmondville High School have been selected to exhibit their work in the 5th Annual Youth Arts Show at 25 Collective.
Juniors Darvi Blanchard and Freddrick Sperbeck, along with freshman Evan Harper, will have their artwork displayed alongside pieces from students representing other local school districts.
Darvi created a ceramic coil pot shaped like a lamb, designed to hold a candle. Freddrick produced a Notan — a black-and-white composition that explores the balance between positive (light) and negative (dark) space. His design was inspired by the onomatopoeia sound “buzz,” resulting in a high-contrast visual effect. Evan designed a miniature “vacation penny postcard,” imagining he had won a vacation sweepstakes. Using magazine clippings for color, he created a detailed landscape set in a specific location and time of day — with the added challenge that the entire piece could be no larger than a penny.
The show opens Friday, March 6, from 5–8 PM during Cherry Valley’s First Friday event and runs through March 29. Visitors are encouraged to attend and vote for the People’s Choice Award.
Congratulations to these young artists for representing C-RHS and showcasing their creativity in this regional exhibition!
