Indoor Track and Field Section 2 Division III Championships @ HVCC

Cobleskill-Richmondville Track & Field athletes delivered an impressive performance at the Indoor Section 2 Division III Championships held at Hudson Valley Community College, with both the boys and girls teams earning strong overall finishes against tough competition.
The girls team placed seventh overall, highlighted by a fifth-place finish in the 4x800-meter relay, where Samantha Mentiply, Sarah Gingell, Matilda Walton, and Gabrielle Hughes combined for a time of 11:57.35. Hughes also placed sixth in the 1,000-meter run with a time of 3:39.53.
In field events, Selah Obleman earned second place in the pole vault, clearing 7 feet, 6 inches. Nola Bohringer secured second place in the shot put with a throw of 34 feet, 9.5 inches, while teammate Danielle Hughes placed fourth at 31 feet, 10 inches. Bohringer also earned a third-place finish in the weight throw, recording a mark of 34 feet, 3 inches.
The boys team placed sixth overall, led by a standout performance from the 4x800-meter relay team, which captured the Sectional Championship title. Brady Lampron, Evan Paliwoda, Daniel Ruenes, and Andrew Hughes combined for a winning time of 9:09.45.
Andrew Hughes added to the team’s success by claiming the Sectional Championship in the 1,600-meter run with a time of 4:50.86, and also placed second in the 1,000-meter run at 2:52.71. In field events, Patrick Maillard placed fifth in the long jump, reaching 18 feet, 9.75 inches.
