This is the image for the news article titled Drawing & Painting 2 students had their cake and ate it too...Students in the Drawing & Painting 2 class at the High School are learning about the artist Vincent Van Gogh and impasto painting techniques. Impasto is a painting technique wherein paint is thickly laid on a surface, so that brushstrokes or palette knife marks are visible.

The students were struggling to understand the concept of painting thickly so it was suggested they paint with cake frosting. As you can see, the results were quite impressive and very delicious. It is rumored they had their cake and ate it too...

Drawing & Painting 2 is one of many art electives available for ALL high school students who have earned a credit in either Studio Art or DDP (Drawing for Design & Production).
