Central School District

The Cobleskill-Richmondville district administrative team includes the superintendent,  director of teaching and learning, director of student services, director of information technology and director of finance operations. The district’s administrative offices are located at 155 Washington Avenue, Cobleskill, NY 12043.

Matthew Sickles
Superintendent of Schools

Matthew Sickles has served as Superintendent of the Cobleskill-Richmondville Central School District since September 2022. He provides leadership to a staff of more than 400, including more than 200 teaching faculty members, advocates for the district before state and local officials, and, together with the Board of Education, oversees the implementation of the district’s strategic plan.

Prior to his role at Cobleskill-Richmondville, Mr. Sickles was superintendent at Phelps-Clifton Springs Central School District in the Finger Lakes region. His professional life began at Shenendehowa Central School District in Clifton Park, where he was a high school social studies teacher, department administrator and then assistant and associate principal. He also spent 12 years in Schuylerville CSD.

Melissa Ausfeld
Director of Student Services
Title IX Coordinator

Melissa Ausfeld was appointed Director of Student Services in July of 2017. In her role, she provides leadership in many areas, including federal grants, special education-related services, guidance and counseling, school-health services as well as school safety and data management.

An educator for more than 20 years, Mrs. Ausfeld previously was an assistant principal and principal at Cobleskill-Richmondville High School. Before joining the district, she had been an elementary school teacher, AIS coordinator and Dean of Students in Northville, N.Y.

Tracy Fraleigh
Director of Finance and Operations

Tracy Fraleigh joined the Cobleskill-Richmondville Central School District as business manager in 2015. She oversees all aspects of the district’s business operations and plays a critical role in development of the annual budget.

Previously, she had served as the district treasurer in the Jefferson Central School District from 2007-2015. She also was District Treasurer at Middleburgh Central School, a senior account clerk at ONC BOCES, and an auditor at Wilber National Bank.

Scott McDonald
Director of Teaching and Learning
Title IX Coordinator

Scott McDonald became the Director of Teaching and Learning in July 2019.  He oversees the development, implementation, and evaluation of all components of the district's curriculum, instructional, and professional development programs.

Mr. McDonald joined the administrative team at C-R in 2003 first as an assistant principal and later as middle school principal.  As a classroom teacher, he taught high school English.

David Sander
Director of Information Technology

David Sander joined Cobleskill-Richmondville in July 2016 as the Director of Information Technology. In his role, he oversees the district's technology network and infrastructure as well as its technology education and budgeting.

Prior to joining the Cobleskill-Richmondville team, he worked at Morris Central School as an elementary teacher, coach and IT coordinator from  2006-2016.
