Dear Parents/Guardians and Seniors:

It’s hard to believe that graduation is right around the corner! This letter provides important information as we near the finish line.

The graduation ceremony will be held on Friday, June 23, 2023 at 7:00 p.m. on the High School Athletic Field. In the event of light rain to moderate rain, the ceremony will still take place. Please be prepared for a variety of elements such as rain, heat, wind, etc. In the event of dangerous weather (lightning, high winds, heavy rain, etc.), the ceremony would be moved to Saturday, June 24, 2023 at either 10:00 a.m. or 7:00 p.m., depending on the weather forecast. Any shift to the Saturday date will be announced to students and families via email, telephone call, and text message.

Graduation on the High School campus is a substantial undertaking. The large number of graduates, family, and friends in attendance presents challenges for vehicular traffic flow, parking, and access to facilities to ensure an enjoyable graduation experience. Please carpool when possible. Handicap parking areas are available on the east and west sides of the building. In the interest of safety and courtesy to others, strollers, book bags, camera tripods, or other large items are not permitted on the Athletic Field.

Graduation rehearsal (including the class picture) is scheduled for 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 22, 2023 immediately after cap and gown distribution. Students must enter through the Hall of Flags (A3) entrance. Rehearsal will start in the Theatre. All students must attend the graduation rehearsal.

Graduates will be given four (4) general admission tickets for the Athletic Field. If a graduate does not need the four allotted general admission tickets, please offer them to another family in need or return them to my attention. There will be limited availability to receive a fifth general admission ticket. We will use a lottery method if necessary to distribute any extra tickets. Bleacher seating will be available as well, with no ticket required. Please contact Mrs. Ferguson in the High School Office at 518-234-3565, Ext. 1001 or [email protected] by Friday, June 16, 2023 if you are in need of any extra general admission tickets.

The entire ceremony will be live-streamed so that students’ friends and family can watch from the comfort of their own homes if they are unable to attend. More information on how you can access the livestream will be made available on our district’s website.

Graduates are expected to arrive no later than 6:15 p.m. on Friday, June 23, 2023 and assemble in the High School Gymnasium. Please enter through the Physical Education Hallway (B1) entrance. Only graduates will be allowed inside the building. Athletic Field gates and bleachers will open for admission at 6:30 p.m. Family and friends holding general admission tickets must enter through the main Athletic Field gate located on the left side of the home bleachers. A ticket must be presented to enter the general admission Athletic Field seating area. Any children old enough to require their own seat must have a ticket. Please retain your ticket for re-entry should you need to leave the specific location once admitted.

A separate correspondence from the Senior Class Advisors discussing end-of-year activities is on the backside of this letter. We are looking forward to a memorable graduation ceremony!

Sincerely,

Brett W. Barr
