The Cobleskill-Richmondville Education Foundation has been awarded a $1,000 grant from the Stewart’s Shops Matching Funds Program.

Stewart’s has collected and matched donations in their shops from Thanksgiving until Christmas since 1986. Half of the $1,000 check comes from customer donations.

The Education Foundation will use the award to fund an assembly, program or a keynote speaker for K-12 students. The assembly and /or program will be used to supplement and enhance the educational experience for our Cobleskill-Richmondville district students. Possible topics to be decided upon by the district administrators include: bullying, empathy for others, the importance of education or other pertinent topics.

“We are so grateful for the Cobleskill-Richmondville Education Foundation’s generous support of our students and programs,” said Carl J. Mummenthey, superintendent of schools. “Each year, the Foundation supports rapid access grants, mini-grants, and larger projects that enrich the educational experiences of our students.”

The Cobleskill-Richmondville Education Foundation is grateful to Stewart’s Shops and to the members of the community who donate to the Stewart’s Matching Funds program. A heartfelt thank you is extended to all who have participated in the Stewart’s Matching Funds Program for your generosity.
