A recent C-R High School graduate was one of nine Capital Region BOCES students to earn a New York State Department of Transportation (DOT) welding certification.
Zach Yorke, a member of the class of 2022 and of the BOCES Welding and Metal Fabrication program, was among the students whose welds passed visual and X-ray test inspections.
As a result, he was issued his NYS DOT field-welder certification, which is required of all welders who perform work on DOT projects.
Capital Region BOCES works with dozens of agencies, businesses and industry organizations in order to provide students with professional certifications. In total, more than 100 professional, resume-building certifications -- including the DOT welding certification -- are offered in various career and technical school programs.
