Beginning March 18, 2024, Cobleskill-Richmondville Central School District will begin implementing a new visitor check-in system in all district buildings. We are excited to implement the Raptor Visitor Management System to strengthen our program of campus safety for students and staff. Knowing who is in our buildings at all times is imperative to keeping our students and staff safe.
The Raptor system will better allow us to screen visitors, contractors, and volunteers in our schools and provide us with a safe environment for our students and staff.
The Raptor system will be implemented in multiple phases, allowing families to adjust to the updated procedures. We are currently in the soft rollout phase.
Procedure:
1. Upon entering the exterior doors of a district building, visitors will be asked to present photo identification, such as a Driver’s License or passport which can either be scanned or manually entered into the system. (During the soft rollout phase, you may provide your name for manual entry in the event you forget photo ID)
2. The Raptor system checks the visitor's name and date of birth for comparison with a national database of registered sex offenders. No other data from the ID is gathered or recorded and the information is not shared with any outside agency.
3. Once entry is approved, Raptor will issue a temporary visitor badge that identifies the visitor, the date, and the purpose of his/her visit.
4. When in the building, you are only approved to go to the specific location requested. You should not go to any other area of the building without returning to the main office for approval.
5. When leaving the building, return to the main office and sign out.
The safety of our students is our highest priority and the Raptor visitor management system allows us to quickly identify those that may present a danger to our students. Thank you in advance for your understanding and your support in enhancing the school safety protocols in our district.
